Albacutya Lake, Albacutya

Surrounded by cleared land and fills only after a number of wet years. Dry 1991. When full carries redfin to 1. 8 kg, tench, goldfish, and an excellent yabby population. One of only three waters in Victoria open to use of yabby pots - other are Lake Hindmarsh in this basin, and Lake Wallawalla in Basin 14. The use of yabbie pots for recreational fishing is under review. Open to amateur netting within the provisions and entitlements of an Amateur Netting Licence. Lake is also open to the use of a six metre bait net by the holder of an Amateur Fishing Licence (or person otherwise exempt).

Note: The use of any mesh net is prohibited within a radius of 400 metres from any part of the bridge over the inlet at the southern end of the lake.
