Avoca River Basin
This is a low rainfall area with few angling waters. Several
lakes grouped at each end of the Avoca River provide most fishing.
The Avoca River, the only one of any importance, has a sluggish flow
and often dries out in the lower reaches. The largest lakes are
saline and carry no fish. Redfin are the predominant species and
widespread. Trout are restricted to the cooler waters in the
southern portion of the Basin.
