Black Range Creek, Edi

A small creek running through forest and grazing land, gravel bed. Erosion and siltation have badly affected the lower reaches. Low flow in summer when the stream is reduced to pools. A small stream that will not sustain a great deal of angling pressure. Contains brown trout to 700g, some rainbow trout to 300g, and river blackfish. Probably recruits rainbow trout through fish escaping from a trout farm located next to the stream. Worth fishing only May-December because of low summer-early autumn flow. Last stocked with trout by the Department in 1969.
