Ovens River Basin
Buffalo Creek, Myrtleford
Small stream rising in mountainous country near Mt. Buffalo,
gravel and boulder bed. Some brown trout to 300g in the lower
section. Much of the stream is within the boundary of the Mt.
Buffalo National Park, and is one of the streams being stocked with
trout cod by the Department to establish additional populations of
this endangered fresh water fish species.
Note: The taking of trout cod from Victorian Inland Waters is prohibited.
