Cherry Lake, Altona

A very shallow 48 ha former swamp converted into a flood control basin and developed as a recreational area. Mainly rock bottom, some sand and mud, maximum depth of 1 m. Eastern end is water bird habitat. Contains redfin to 450g, carp to 4 kg, goldfish and tupong. Unsuitable habitat for trout.
