Combienbar River

Flows through forest and grazing land, mud, gravel and sand bed. Although summer flow is low there are numerous deep pools. Carries predominantly small brown trout average 200g, maximum 600g, some rainbow trout, long-finned and short-finned eels, river blackfish and grayling. No accommodation and only limited camping places along the river. A little known lightly fished trout stream. Best angling in late summer and autumn by spinning, bait casting, and floating live baits such as grasshoppers and crickets.
