Edwardes Park Lake, Reservoir

Not shown on map. An artificial lake on Edgars Creek (a tributary of Merri Creek) of sufficient depth, size and ease of access to have considerable potential as a put-and-take urban fishery. Contaminated by Pcb's from industrial effluent in the lake catchment area. Dredged during the 1980's in an attempt to reduce the contamination problem. Stocked with trout for several years by Department for junior fishing days, but last stocked in 1981. No fish stocking by Department until water quality is acceptable. Contains carp, roach, redfin and goldfish. Fish taken from this lake should not be eaten.
