Jamieson River, Jamieson

Flows mostly through heavily forested country with only the lower 16 km of the Jamieson valley cleared. Consists of a series of pools and runs, gravel bed, fluctuating water level and flow. A popular trout stream that is readily accessible in its lower reaches. Contains equal numbers of brown trout and rainbow trout average 200g with some larger fish and a few small redfin and river blackfish in the lower reaches. Last stocked with trout by the Department in 1985.
