Kangaroo Lake, Kerang

Surface area: 980 ha
Capacity: 34,390 Ml

Large deep lake surrounded by open land and citrus groves, mud and sand bottom. Part of RWC distribution system supplying water to orchards, vineyards and pasture in the Kerang-Swan Hill area. Popular camping and picnic area. Dense aquatic weed around the margin of the lake makes a boat necessary for angling. Contains mainly redfin to 2. 6 kg, tench, carp, goldfish, Murray cod, silver perch, golden perch, freshwater catfish and bony bream. One of the best fishing lakes in the basin. Open to amateur netting within the provisions and entitlements of an Amateur Netting Licence.
