Marma Lake, Murtoa
A shallow 9 ha lake situated adjacent to the town. High summer
water temperatures. Contains redfin to 1. 6 kg, tench to 1 kg and
goldfish. Abundant aquatic weed makes fishing difficult, a factor in
cessation of trout stocking after 1978. Lake is
open to the use of a six metre bait net by the holder of an Amateur
Fishing Licence (or person otherwise exempt).
