Melton Reservoir, Melton

  • Surface area: 320 ha
  • Capacity: 17,000 MI
  • Catchment area: 1,114 km2

Also known as Exford Weir. An RWC irrigation storage serving mainly the market gardening areas of Werribee. Surrounded by grazing land, mud bottom. Picnic facilities. Some redfin, eels, tench, carp and roach. Mainly a boating lake, but public launching facilities are poor. Provides poor angling. Last stocked with trout by Department in 1972.
