Newport Power Station Channel

Coolant water discharge channel to Port Phillip Bay from the Secv's gas-turbine power generating station. Fishing results depend on water conditions. Best catches are when the station is operating and flows of warm water occur. This attracts fish of many species into the short channel. Usually contains bream and mullet, but tailor, occasional mulloway and some good size "pinkie" snapper may also be caught. The channel is currently declared an "Inland Water" and an Amateur Fishing Licence is required. This status is under review.
