Seven Creeks, Euroa

Upstream from Polly Mcquinn's Dam

A small, deep stream flowing through open country, sand bed with rock outcrops. Carries Macquarie perch, river blackfish and a few brown trout plus possibly a few rainbow trout. The area around Polly Mcquinn's Dam is fishable but is silting badly.

Polly Mcquinn's Dam to Watch box Creek

One of the few waters in the State containing a population of the endangered trout cod, with one of the best populations of the species in south-east Australia. Completely closed to angling to protect this fish species.

Note: The taking of trout cod from Victorian Inland Waters is prohibited.

Watchbox Creek function to Euroa

A small shallow stream in open rolling country, sand bed. Contains a few small brown trout and rainbow trout, some carp and redfin. It is proposed that the area closed to fishing be extended downstream to the Galls Gap Road bridge.

Euroa to Goulburn River

Flows through flat open country and has become narrow, fast and deep, mud and sand bed. Access is greatly restricted by private property. Contains brown trout average 300g, some Macquarie perch average 200g, maximum 700g, river blackfish to 220g, golden perch and carp. Stocking of golden perch below Euroa is aimed at developing a recreational fishery for this species.
