Yarra River Basin

There is one main river, the Yarra, which rises in forested country and flows through a wide variety of topography before reaching the sea at Melbourne. Although the river is usually discoloured in the downstream section, it carries good populations of various fish species and provides good angling in certain areas. There are seven large reservoirs in the basin but they are all domestic water storages controlled by Melbourne Water (formerly Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works). Of these storages, six are closed to fishing - Maroondah, O'Shannassy, Silvan, Toorourong, Upper Yarra and Yan Yean Reservoirs. The seventh and most recently constructed storage, Sugar-loaf Reservoir (initially known as Winneke Reservoir) is open to fishing with some restrictions. Other streams in the basin are all tributaries of the Yarra River, most of which are small with low summer flow and of limited angling value.

Looking for specific info regarding fishing on yarra. Found NOTHING. Try posting specific places near towns close to city, with fishing specifics to the area.
