Goulburn River Basin
Yea River, Yea
Flows through open country. The stream bed is mostly rock
upstream from Glenburn, with mud downstream. Access is somewhat
restricted by private property. Contains mostly brown trout to 600g,
small river blackfish, redfin in the lower reaches, carp, goldfish,
and occasional rainbow trout. Last stocked with trout by Department
in 1960. This river in conjunction with the Murrindindi River is one
of the river systems currently being stocked with Macquarie perch
produced at Snobs Creek Hatchery, results not yet known.
